A completely revised and updated edition of America’s pregnancy bible, the longest-running New York Times bestseller ever.

With 18.5 million copies in print, What to Expect When You’re Expecting is read by 93% of women who read a pregnancy book and was named one of the “Most Influential Books of the Last 25 Years” by USA Today.

This cover-to-cover (including the cover!) new edition is filled with must-have information, advice, insight, and tips for a new generation of moms and dads. With What to Expect’s trademark warmth, empathy, and humor, it answers every conceivable question expecting parents could have, including dozens of new ones based on the ever-changing pregnancy and birthing practices and choices they face. Advice for dads is fully integrated throughout the book. All medical coverage is completely updated, including the latest on Zika virus, prenatal screening, and the safety of medications during pregnancy, as well as a brand-new section on postpartum birth control. Current lifestyle trends are incorporated, too: juice bars, raw diets, e-cigarettes, push presents, baby bump posting, the lowdown on omega-3 fatty acids, grass-fed and organic, health food fads, and GMOs. Plus expanded coverage of IVF pregnancy, multiple pregnancies, breastfeeding while pregnant, water and home births, and cesarean trends (including VBACs and “gentle cesareans”).

Good info but similar to website I bought this book when I found out I was pregnant based off of my doctors recommendations. It definitely has a lot of useful information, however, the website is very similar. If you sign up for their emails, or I'm sure just browse the site, the info is exactly what you're reading in the book. If you wanted to not spend the money on the book, I would just just check out the website or sign up for the emails if you want the info on a weekly basis. If you want the info right at your fingertips in book form, then this is for you.Great reference guide for parents to be Husband and I love to read this together, as we feel it gives us a nice heads up on what to expect week to week. The Q&A part is also great, as there are many questions on there that we can relate with, and we get giggles out of some of the Dad components, which are really a nice add-on and make this book feel like its made for all participating members. Pregnancy really is wonderful thing, but there are so many unexpected and unknown components to it, it can get really intimidating and scary. Reading what others are going thru or have done thru is really comforting, and it helps us get our questions ready for our monthly doctors visit (there are so many things you don't even think about asking!). Its also been great to truly have a reference guide on what to expect, and what tests are coming up, so when they do happen, we are better prepared and can get to the core questions answered by our OBGYN. Recommend this to all expecting families, it has been really helpful for ours.I recommend this book for all expectant parents. Bought this for my son and his girlfriend to read together as they take the journey into parenthood together. I read an earlier version 23 years ago, and this version is proving to be as helpful and interesting to expecting parents as the older one was to me. As I watch them reading together, I am struck by how this book helps to foster an immediate connection for both of them to their developing baby. Very cool when a book can provide important information and evoke an emotional response.
